Steve Jobs, one of the better know perfectionists of our modern world uttered this quote about working in a Startup culture and now, after 2 years as an entrepreneur I do realise the importance of these golden words. In this post I shall try to do justice to this statement by pointing out some of the aspects of working in a startup and some facts which still motivate me (ones which I have learned the hard way) to be an entrepreneur. I agree that not every entrepreneur/startup is successful and supposedly 90% of them fail to see success. I have jumped into entrepreneurship having known this statistic very well. But now, after two years of toiling hard and still with a long way to go, I would say that the journey was worth it. Today, I can proudly say that ‘I’ have nurtured a team that has mentored more than 6000 graduate students and left everlasting impressions in their young. |

India is a developing country, a booming economy, an economy which would require 700 million globally employable workforces. We have about 550 million people under the age of 25, out of which only 11% are enrolled in tertiary institutions compared to the world average of 23%. Further, around 3, 50,000 students enroll themselves in engineering education every year making us the second largest talent pool for engineers across the globe. But, how many of these Engineers are really employable. |
